Simplifly Deccan , the low-cost carrier (LCC) brand formed after the merger of full service airline Kingfisher and Deccan Aviation, may soon cease to exist, according to a financial newspaper.

Kingfisher will leverage the Deccan licence, which meets the stipulated five-year domestic operations to fly overseas, to launch its international operations. The full service carrier is likely to kick-start its overseas operations from September 3.

The Civil Aviation Ministry has allowed Deccan, in which Kingfisher Airlines has a substantial stake, to operate seven flights a week between Bangalore and London (Heathrow). Deccan completes five years of domestic operations on August 26.

Deccan has also been allowed to operate international flights to 13 destinations, which include the US and the UK , besides short-haul destinations like Singapore , Hong Kong and West Asia , the paper says.

The newspaper adds that Kingfisher Red Airlines will gradually replace the Deccan brand in the domestic market as well.

The international routes will run on the Kingfisher brand, the paper says, adding that on the domestic routes the full-service brand will incorporate two separate models - full service and a more upgraded LCC one, it adds.
